Incomplete Financials Raise Many Questions
During the financial reports, members questioned the huge losses
from all enterprises. They also questioned what actions are being taken
to cut costs and make adjustments for the seasonal fluctuations in
revenue. Treasurer Lemieux stated that the FY2005 audit is completed
and by tomorrow 3-6-09, the FY2006 would be completed. He said any
Tribal member can go to see him in Accounting to view the audits. It was
requested that since these audits were behind four years, and we were
promised a financial meeting months ago, that a meeting on these audits
be held to inform us of the Tribes financial status. Treasurer Lemieux
agreed, however no date was set. Concern was expressed over grants
that the Tribe would not be allowed to apply for. The reason given was
because of the FY2006 audit not being completed and late reports. We
were told that the late audit reports may effect the eligibility of many
future grants. The Indirect Cost Rate Proposal was questioned.
Treasurer Lemieux stated that as soon as the FY2007 audit was
completed (estimated 60 to 90 days to complete), they would work on
the Indirect Cost Budget.
