Happy Birthday!
BRANews is proud to announce our one year
anniversary. This date (February 21, 2010) marks one full
year of delivering information and reporting the news
affecting the people of the Bad River Nation. This past year
has been an incredible journey full of highs and lows.
BRANews was there to expose the corruptions of the past
and there as we witnessed with newfound hope, our
transition into a new tribal government. We as a Nation,
have made tremendous steps forward. However, a long
journey still lies ahead of us, which is why BRANews will
remain dedicated to the continuence of transparency; by
keeping the people of Bad River up to date on our tribal
government and its functions. Currently our Nation
continues to face several internal obstacles along our
journey to a successful citizen-serving government. Some
of our obstacles are a long term result of neglectful
adherence to our Corporate Charter and our "historically
accepted" accounting practices. These internal obstacles
have equated into a systematic meltdown of our tribal
monies. I understand these issues are not easily heard and
may be heavy on the heart. But the addressment of these
important points of value is vital in order for us to progress
and flourish as a Nation. Together we must collaborate
viable solutions as we work towards a promising future in
Bad River. A future where we can secure the tribal funds to
invest in our dreams instead of only doing what we can.
Good or bad, we at BRANews feel we have a personal duty
to bring these stories to our citizen readers so they have
the knowledge to process and construct an informed basis
for judgements and decisions involving our tribal
government. BRANews would like to thank you for all your
contributions, but most of all, we thank you for
    reading.
